This month SGA is celebrating art and artists. Check out this sculpture by former president and professor at Valdosta State University, Dr. Ronald M. Zaccari. About the sculpture: "The sculpture, “Head of a Woman”, is constructed of painted aluminum and was designed and fabricated for a retrospective art exhibition, “Faces - Vases - Places”, Turner Center for the Arts, September 17 - October 31, 2018. Pablo Picasso’s interpretation of the visual art world and his related abilities to push creative processes to novel heights served as inspiration for the sculpture. The various views are meant to express a cubistic theme of curves and angles. Shadow forms that play against the pure white surface are important to the overall design."
It's National Take a Walk in the Park Day! Check out this 1919 photo of a scene in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA from the Georgia Archives.
It's #womenshistorymonth! Check out this image of the Dekalb Commissioner Candidates and the League of Women Voters meeting from the Bill Wilson photographs collection at the Atlanta History Center.
