New Scholarships Established for SGA-Sponsored Workshops!

SGA has established two new scholarships for attendance to the SGA-sponsored Spring/Summer Workshop and the Pre-Conference Workshop. The scholarships, covering workshop registration, will be offered for the first time with the 2008 Spring/Summer Workshop. All SGA members and those working or studying in the archival field in Georgia will be eligible.

An endowment fund has been setup for the ongoing support of the scholarships. SGA members can contribute by adding a donation to their 2008 membership renewals and by donating to and participating in the 2008 Annual Scholarship Auction to be held on November 8th, at 6:00 p.m. at the CSU Theatre on the Park in Columbus. The scholarships will be named by current SGA members for significant SGA members or supporters through an online voting process leading up to the SGA Annual Meeting. Nominations are being accepted until October 5th by email to lspracher@savannahga.gov or Christine.decatanzaro@library.gatech.edu. Please include one or two sentences on why the nominated person is worthy of this honor.
